TrainFire is a collection of paintings by local artist, Patrick Michael Karnahan. Karnahan was the featured artist in the Historical Society’s previous book, Glory of the Sierra, which contains twenty-one of his Sierra Railroad paintings. This book has more of Karnahan’s western railroad paintings along with a selection of his landscape works. What makes this volume unique are the twelve forest fire paintings depicting a variety of firefighting aircraft in action. The original of one of the paintings commemorating the Rim Fire is hanging in the US Forest Service Office in Washington, D.C. This colorful coffee table volume contains 86 full page reproductions of this prolific artist’s works in oil. Hardbound. Tuolumne County Historical Society.
